INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN

  • DS17 construction and configuration of green screen and light board
  • Calendar full of one-on-one meetings and online course development; specifically with, but not limited to, MSW, ABA, Dietetic and Nursing
  • Schedule extensive trainings for Fall / Spring semesters for faculty development on teaching and learning technology including Blackboard
  • New Faculty and Adjunct Orientations
  • Communicate standardized campus-wide technology recommendations such as Audio / Video Conferencing options & iClicker replacement options
  • Hire technician in Brooklyn to support Daemen TTI Help Desk needs
  • Roll out and train faculty on the use of the Quality Matters Rubric for evaluating and ensuring high-quality online course instruction
  • Create Blackboard master courses and templates
  • Present at the full faculty meeting and department chairs meeting to communicate new instructional services being offered to faculty

SERVER & NETWORK ADMINISTRATION

  • Replace / Upgrade Administrative File Server
  • Expand Disaster Recovery including nightly cloud-hosted backups
  • Prepare and execute a full migration from hosting Blackboard
    on-premises to a cloud-hosted environment
  • Cross-training the Server / Network team
  • Upgrade Papercut Print Management server (New Virtual Machine, expanded capacity)
  • Configure and optimize new virtual hosts and linked storage array (set up 12 server Colleague test environment; prepare to virtualize all Colleague production servers)
  • Reconfigure / remove ASA Firewall and set up a critical server DMZ
  • Password protect WiFi on campus
  • Decommission old wireless access points that are end-of-life; replacing with newer models
  • Set up and configure a backup wireless controller for redundancy and high availability of wireless service across campus
  • Set up and configure a backup Sonicwall Firewall for campus-wide redundancy and high throughput
  • Upgrade redundant internet service from 500Mbps to 1Gpbs

IT SECURITY

  • Schedule calendar of KnowBe4 Phishing Awareness messages and training
  • PCI Compliance (Ensure Musicalfare is officially using their own DSL service, finishing configuring after final ethernet runs are in place in Dining Services and Student accounts)
  • Develop a written information security plan
  • Follow up on compliance with the new Confidentiality agreement to be signed by all faculty and staff
  • Discover all sensitive data repositories across campus and maintain a thorough inventory of what is stored and where
  • Audit access permissions for our critical servers and data repositories
  • Execute our new password change policy (students and employees have been prompted; next alumni)
  • Encrypt all laptops that are provisioned in the technology refresh
  • Follow up to ensure compliance with our annual IT Security training
  • Conduct network and systems vulnerability assessments & set up a system to monitor / detect security breaches
  • Evaluate compliance with GLBA, GDPR and NYS Breach Notification regulations
